Grand Rapids, Mich., February 6, 2020 — The USA Masters Games will officially kick off with an Opening Ceremony on Friday, June 26. The Opening Ceremony will be held at Fifth Third Ballpark (the minor league baseball stadium for the West Michigan Whitecaps at 4500 W. River Dr. NE Comstock Park, MI 49321). Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. The ceremony will begin at 7:30 p.m. and conclude around 9 p.m. A reception to welcome USA Masters Games athletes will be held at 6 p.m.
Entertainment will include the athlete parade, the Human Cannonball, the lighting of the cauldron and more.
The USA Masters Games reception will take place at the Pepsi Stadium Club at Fifth Third Ballpark and start at 6:00 pm. All athletes that pay the games fee will get free entrance into the reception. Guests can join the reception by purchasing a Super Pass.
The “Human Cannonball” is performed by David “The Bullet” Smith. Smith has performed over 8,000 shows around the globe. Most notably he performed in Saudi Arabia where he broke his own Guinness Book World Record for highest cannonball shot when he launched 89 feet in the air.
Admission to the Opening Ceremony for those over the age of nine will be $5, as well as $5 for parking. Admission into Opening Ceremony is also included in a Super Pass.
